Penne Aglio e Olio (Garlic and Oil)
There are many interpretations and ways of making this pasta dish. Traditionally it is made with spaghetti tossed in a garlic infused oil with chili flakes (for those who like it spicy). Our seasoning is our interpretation of the same, with minimal work. This means, no added ingredients are necessary (unless you’d like to add something). In this case, we do not salt the pasta water. We did opt to leave out the chili flakes because not everyone likes it spicy. We added freshly grated parmesan cheese, because why not!
Servings: 3 people
Ingredients
- 300 grams Pasta of your choice (we used penne rigate for this recipe)
- 3 tbsp Olive/Vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp RiSA FOODS Garlic Seasoning
- Chili flakes and/or parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Boil the pasta according to the package instructions (again, we opted out of salting the water).
- While pasta is cooking, heat oil on medium in a pan large enough to toss the pasta.
- Make sure oil is not too hot or you will burn the seasoning, and no one likes burnt garlic!
- Remove oil from heat and add the seasoning (and chili flakes if you like), stirring until golden brown.
- Set aside.
- Strain pasta and slowly add it to the garlic oil.
- Toss, plate, add parmesan and enjoy!
Notes
Pairs well with Garlic bread! (Garlic Bread recipe)
